Frequently asked questions

How do I resize an image to exact dimensions?
Drop your image in, type the width and height you need in pixels, and select Resize image. If you want two exact independent values such as 1000 × 1000, turn off Keep aspect ratio first. The result is produced at exactly the pixel dimensions you entered.
Will resizing reduce image quality?
Making an image smaller discards pixels, so fine detail is reduced, but we scale down in gradual steps with high-quality smoothing so the result stays clean. Enlarging an image beyond its original dimensions cannot add detail that was never captured, so it will look softer.
Can I resize an image without changing its aspect ratio?
Yes. Keep aspect ratio is on by default. Type either the width or the height and the other value is calculated from your original image's proportions, so the picture is never stretched or squashed.
Can I resize PNG images with transparent backgrounds?
Yes. With the output format set to Auto, a PNG stays a PNG and transparent areas are preserved. If you deliberately choose JPG, which cannot store transparency, we tell you first and fill those areas with white instead of black.
What image formats are supported?
JPG/JPEG, PNG, and WebP. Auto keeps your original format, and you can also pick JPG, PNG, or WebP explicitly if you need a specific one.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Resizing runs entirely inside your browser using built-in image APIs. Your file is read from your device, processed in memory, and handed back to you as a download. It is never sent to us.
